Course Introduction
The course “Introduction to Risk Management for Sporting Events” is a four-week open course (held online every Wednesday for two hours), offered by the Academy of Leadership Sciences Switzerland.
The course is designed and delivered by recognized experts in this field. It is being offered as an open course and can be attended by anyone who is, or aspires to get, involved in the industry of sports – including sports administrators, Event Organizers and Managers, Coaches and Trainers, Venue Managers, Security Personnel, Legal Professionals, Insurance Professionals, Students and Academics, Government and Regulatory Bodies, current and former athletes, among others.
Course Content
The course covers specific topics on sport-related issues including Introduction to Risk Management, Practical Application of Risk Management, Insurance, Safeguarding, National versus international events, Amateur versus professional competitions, and other topics.

- Duration of the Course: 4 weeks (every Wednesday, two hours webinar at 18h00 CET)

- Study Format : 100 % online via Zoom
- Tutorial fees for the whole course : CHF 590 to be paid at least three days before the course starts.
- Admission Requirements : Anyone who is, or aspires to get, involved in the industry of sports can enrol for this course.

Tammi Gaw
Course Presenter
Tammi Gaw is an international sports lawyer and consultant based in Scotland. She has experience in both the US and international sports landscape and is one of a small group of professionals licensed as both an attorney and in sports medicine. Tammi’s expertise includes medical negligence, risk management, concussion and traumatic brain injury, medical welfare, and corporate governance. Her career has included in-house counsel positions, not-for-profit management and board governance, and integrated planning for large scale, multi-venue sporting events. She is Of Counsel with a boutique US law firm focused on sports, business and tech.Tammi is a sought-after lecturer and speaker on a wide range of subjects including risk management, athlete safety, gender and pay equality, and the intersection of sports and human rights. She is a Specialist Member for the National Antidoping Panel of Sport Resolutions and the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for The Drake Group Education Fund.
Daniel Böhm
Course Presenter
Daniel Böhm is a former German biathlete who achieved significant success in his sporting career, including winning a silver medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics and becoming a world champion in 2015. After retiring from professional biathlon, Daniel pursued a career as a helicopter pilot with the federal police. He later transitioned to the private sector, working in sales. Since 2020, Daniel has been with the International Biathlon Union, and in 2022, he was appointed as the Sport & Event Director.
